WAL The Dingle Dangle Scarecrow

We wrote our own version of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The Very Hungry Caterpillars

By the Super K -9s
Illustrations and story based on the story by Eric Carle.

In the light of the moon
some little eggs lay on a leaf.

One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and – pop!- out of the eggs came  tiny and very hungry caterpillars.
They started to look for some food.

On Monday they ate through one apple, but they were still hungry.

On Tuesday they ate through two pears, but they were still hungry.

On Wednesday they ate through three plums, but they were still hungry.

On Thursday they ate through four strawberries,
but they were still hungry.

On Friday they ate through five oranges, but they were still hungry.

On Saturday they ate through
one packet of popcorn, a banana, some meat loaf, chippies, an iceblock, some liquorice...

...peanuts,a chocolate ice cream, a lollipop,
a piece of chocolate cake and some jellybeans .

That night they had tummy aches!

The next day was Sunday again.
The caterpillars ate through one nice green leaf,
and after that they felt much better.

Now they weren’t hungry anymore-
and they weren’t little caterpillars any more.

They were big, fat caterpillars.

They built a small house, called a cocoon, around themselves.

They stayed inside for more than two weeks.

Then they nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed their way out and  …

 They were beautiful butterflies!

We are learning about the sort of clothes Jesus wore when He was alive in Palestine,

Ruben and Claire dressed up as Jesus and Mary.
They each wore a tunic, a mantle, a girdle or sash and sandals.
